Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated “The inherent mission of the clerics is to explain the content of Islam, answer questions and doubts. The Clerics are educated in the school of Imam Hussain (a.s.), and despite all the enemy plots, they never retreat from the scene of religion, religiosity and explanation of Ahkam (Islamic rulings).”

On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the unveiling ceremony of literary and artistic productions with the theme of Gilan Clerics in Holy Defense (Iraq-Iran 8-year imposed war), at the Gilan University Research Institute, offering his condolences on the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his loyal companions, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “Imam Hussain (a.s.) is a role model for all humanity. By using art, we should introduce the Ashura Event to today’s human society.”

Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Islamic Revolution of Iran is the miracle of the century, along with the movement of Ashura. With all the lessons we learned from the Ashura School, we must revive the philosophy of Ashura in all mystical, social, political, and cultural fields. Right after the victory of the Islamic revolution, the enemies tried with all their might to show the Islamic system as ineffective. With the help of the people, Islamic Iran overcame all these conspiracies, and is now on the path of change in all sectors.”

“To realize Islamic civilization, we need to achieve the components of this civilization, that is, Tawhid (monotheism), discourse, as well as the strategies of the Revolution, including advancement of science, seeking justice and fight against tyranny. Different classes of the society such as university professors and students, and even school students play an effective role in this collective movement and the realization of Islamic civilization. The role of the clerics in the realization of Islamic civilization and the explanation of the Ashura movement has little been discussed,” he clarified.

“The clerics are educated in the school of Imam Hussain (a.s.), and they consider the enlightening, answering questions and doubts as inherent mission. Imam Khomeini (r.a.) spoke of a school in which one can learn the law of life. The late Imam (r.a.) presented us a comprehensive view of Islam. Islamic Revolution of Iran originated from a pure though of Islam according to which, it is possible to establish a government based on religion and religious teachings in the post-modern era. One of the pillars of the Islamic Revolution is respecting the dignity and status of people and serving them, which has been presented in the thoughts of Imam (r.a.),” Ayatollah Ramazani noted.

“It is an honor that 152 clergy martyrs out of a total of 888 clergy martyrs of the country are from Gilan province. Although explaining the teachings and being present among the warriors of Islam in the Holy Defense and give them morale are important matters alone, our cleric martyrs were also trained in various specialized fields. In Operation Karbala-5, 567 cleric martyrs sacrificed themselves for the Islamic Revolution,” continued the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“We have seen the high position and influence of the Shiite sources of emulation in the history. According to history, after Mirza Shirazi’s fatwa banning tobacco, women of the palace of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar broke the hookahs. Today, the enemies are seeking to weaken the position and influence of Shia sources of emulation. Today, some argue that the Islamic seminary should be secular, and the clerics should not be active in the social and religious arenas of the society. During the Pahlavi era, especially Reza Khan, the clerics made many efforts, were imprisoned, tortured, and exiled. Today, by using cyberspace, the enemy seeks to separate people from the clerics,” he said.

“We must use art to explain the Holy Defense (Iraq-Iran 8-year imposed war). Today, everything is dominated by cyberspace. Therefore, clerics should be up-to-date and progress with this environment, and by studying, explain and enlighten in different areas, especially the Holy Defense. The inherent mission of the authentic clerics is to explain the content of Islam, to answer questions and doubts. Clerics should be the promoters, vanguards, and pioneers to preserve Islamic teachings. Clerics never retreat from the scene of religion, religiosity, and explanation of Ahkam (Islamic rulings). Sometimes perhaps a cleric makes a mistake, but one should not attribute the mistake of a cleric to Islam,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.

“In the different fronts of the Islamic Revolution, wherever they were needed, clerics have been present in the front lines. The original line of clerics is the line of redefining religion in the new age. The clerics have fulfilled their main duties in preserving Islam. We should adjust the framework of our life based on the speeches of Imam Hussain (a.s.). AhlulBayt (a.s.) are the true border guards of Islam, and clerics are educated in the school of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and consider themselves servants of that Imam,” emphasized the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

In the end, while referring to the naming of the conference hall of Gilan Studies Institute in Gilan University after Dr. Rahmdel, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Dr. Rahmdel was a humble person and in the field of literature, he did a great service to the Holy Defense.”
