International conference “Tradition and Era of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.)” to be held

Wednesday, 02 November 2022

With the participation of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the International Conference “Tradition and Era of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.)” will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

The head of the Research Institute “History and Biography of AhlulBayt (a.s.)” of the “Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy” announced, “The International Conference on the Tradition and Era of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.) will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022.”

On November 1, at the press conference of the International Conference “Tradition and Era of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.)”  at the Ghadir Conference Center of Islamic Propagation Office of the Seminary, Hojat al-Islam Hamidreza Motahari said, “This conference deals with the life of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.), explaining the biography of the Imam and providing information about the era of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.).”

“This conference is the continuation of the series of conferences of Ibn al-Reza (a.s.), which is organized by the Association of History Scholars jointly with the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy. The first conference of this series of conferences was related to Imam Javad (a.s.), in which more than 100 articles were submitted to its secretariat, and three books were published from the accepted articles,” he added.

“100 articles have been received for this conference, of which about 50 have been accepted. We plan to organize this conference in Iraq by translating the accepted works into Arabic,” he said.

“The infiltration of deviant thoughts and ideas, the formation of numerous sects during the time of these three Imams (a.s.), and the severe restrictions imposed on the AhlulBayt (a.s.) - so that they had to go outside the city of Medina to live - have led us to study of these noble Imams,” expressed the head of the Research Institute “History and Biography of AhlulBayt (a.s.)” of the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy.

“Another important reason for studying these three noble Imams is the connection of their era with the Era of Occultation. Because knowing the actions of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) to prepare the Shiite community to enter the Era of Occultation is one of the most important points that must be paid attention to,” Hojat al-Islam Motahari stated.

“Among the topics of this conference is the life of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.) during his Imamate and before it, the conditions and historical background of the Imam, the tradition of the Imam in different dimensions, the Imam from the perspective of others (Sunnis), the Imam from the perspective of Orientalists, Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.) and Islamic civilization, the situation of Shia in the era of the Imam, and the sects in the era of the Imam and the way the Imam dealt with them,” he added.

Regarding the importance of holding these kinds of conferences, he said, “One of the most important causes for the problems of the society is the lack of a role model, and one of the goals of holding these kinds of conference is to introduce a suitable role model.”

“This conference will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, on the anniversary of the birth of Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.), from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Imam Hussain (a.s.) Hall of the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy,” Hojat al-Islam Motahari reminded.

“This conference will be held in six specialized commissions, and a report of the commissions will be presented at the closing ceremony,” added the head of the Research Institute “History and Biography of AhlulBayt (a.s.)” of the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy.
