Terrorist attack on Sayed Al-Shuhada High School, Kabul, one of most catastrophic terrorist incidents of contemporary era: Ayatollah Ramazani

On the 40th day of the terrorist attack on Sayed Al-Shuhada Girls’ High School in Dasht-e Barchi, Kabul, and the martyrdom of tens of innocent fasting student girls, a commemoration ceremony, organized by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, was held on Thursday, June 17, 202. The ceremony was a part of a series of AhlulBayt’s virtual meetings on the subject of “Why the Shiites are oppressed in Afghanistan; Strategies to strengthen the Shiite community.”

At the ceremony, referring to the painful tragedy of the martyrdom of Shiite schoolgirls in Afghanistan, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “The terrorist explosion at Sayed Al-Shuhada Girls’ High School in Dasht-e Barchi, Kabul, which killed 85 people and injured 150 others, was one of the most tragic terrorist incidents in the contemporary era. Most of the martyrs were 13- to 16-year-old girls. Some of the martyrs of the incident were torn to pieces. So that their identification was possible only by their stationery. On the other hand, the families of these martyrs were below the poverty line.”

“Regarding the crime of martyring female students in Kabul, one should read this verse: “بِأَيِّ ذَنْبٍ قُتِلَتْ” (For what sin she was slain) (Quran, 81: 9). Although condemnation messages were issued from all over the world after this incident, and the seminaries of Qom and Najaf, the Grand Source of Emulations, Sunni scholars, pope, and various organizations condemned it, this incident is one of the most painful and horrible incidents in Afghanistan since the beginning of the American military presence in the country, even in the contemporary era,” he continued.

“For the past 20 years, the United States, before that the former Soviet Union have been present in Afghanistan under the pretext of providing security. However, we have witnessed unrest in this country for the last two decades. Even these unrests still exist today and have not diminished,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“After this terrorist incident, different ethnic groups and parties in Afghanistan expressed their sympathy with the Shiite community of the country. Afghan Shiite clerics also unanimously condemned the Kabul terrorist attack and called on the international community to follow up on the incident internationally. They also called on the Afghan government to try to prevent a recurrence of such incidents, to introduce the criminal face of ISIL among the people, and to strengthen the national spirit in Afghanistan. These points should be followed up,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, Referring to the reaction of different segments of Afghanistan to the terrorist incident in Kabul.

“I must say that, first of all, in the Quranic culture, killing an oppressed person is equal to killing all human beings. God says in the Quran: “مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا” (whoever slays a soul, unless it be for manslaughter or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew all men) (Quran, Sura Al-Ma'idah verse 32). This Quranic view must be taken into account. According to Islam and other Abrahamic religions, man has dignity, man is the center of creation on earth, and God has created all blessings for man. For the evolution and progress of man, God has entrusted a great trust to man, and man has been able to carry this great trust: “حَمَلَهَا الْإِنْسَانُ ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا” (but man undertook it. Indeed, he is most unjust and ignorant) (Quran, Sura Al-Ahzaabverse 72). But throughout history we have seen extremist views about the status of man,” he continued.

“In recent times, and the past few decades, we have seen that takfiri thought has had many victims of people in the world, most of whom, of course, have been in Islamic countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran. Also, due to these terrorist acts, we have had many victims in Iran. The martyrs Rajai, Bahonar, the martyrs of Hafte Tir bombing, the nuclear martyrs, and many other martyrs were the martyrs of terror. Unfortunately, some terrorists still believe in killing innocent people. Among the victims of their actions are defenseless women and children,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“In this terrorist incident, which we participated in the 40th day ceremony of it, 85 girls between the ages of 13 and 16 were martyred, and 150 were injured. The terrorist incident in Kabul is a very big crime, and in response to this incident, we have to say to the Western world and international organizations: For what sin were they killed? Unfortunately, the Western world reacted very little to this incident. Sometimes, in response to the smallest thing that happens to a person in the West, all the Western media, through propaganda, deafen the ears of all the people of the world. On the contrary, sometimes big and heartbreaking events take place in the world, during which innocent people are killed, but these media do not show any reaction, and this is a very bitter issue. While these kinds of crimes must be seriously pursued by international institutions, we see some international organizations are just expressing concern! By expressing concern no problem will be solved, and unless these crimes are prosecuted, and the perpetrators are brought to justice, the concern of the international community alone cannot heal the heart wound of families who have lost loved ones,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the martyrs of the Kabul terrorist incident.

“Despite their poverty, the victims of the Kabul terrorist incident walked with great difficulty every day to get to school and pursue their education. But on the other hand, we face extremist views that forbid education for girls and women. While according to the Quran and hadiths, education is necessary for every human being, and it is obligatory for a Muslim, both men, and women. Extremist views have dealt many blows to human beings, and because of these wrong views, they have taken many people away from us. Unfortunately, this view is attributed to religion. At one time in Iraq, terrorists beheaded innocent people while reciting “Allahu Akbar” and “La ilaha illallah”! Where in the logic of Islam are there such crimes? The first verses revealed to the Prophet (p.b.u.h) were about science, knowledge, and knowledge: “اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ* الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ*عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ*” (Read, and your Lord is the most generous, * who taught by the pen, *taught man what he did not know*) (Quran, Sura Al-Qalam, verses: 3, 4 & 5). Islam invites people to learn knowledge and says that everyone should either be students and seek knowledge, or lovers of knowledge. Islam thus emphasizes the learning of knowledge. On the other hand, Islam complains of ignorance and considers ignorance as to the basis of any evil and danger to human beings. Terrorist movements are born of ignorance,” he continued.

“Throughout history, there has been an extremist view among Muslims. Of course, this view has been among other religions as well. Because of such views, some attribute violence to Islam. While Islam has come for the mercy of human beings. God says in the Quran: “وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ” (We did not send you but as a mercy to all the nations.) (Quran, Sura Al-Anbiya, verse 107). They attribute violence to Islam. While the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) said, “I have been sent for mercy.” In recent centuries, due to their inability to analyze the events of the beginning of Islam, some opponents of Islam attributed the violence to Islam, and because of the occurrence of 80 wars during the time of the Prophet, they described him as the warrior. However, if we look at the wars of his time, it turns out that in these wars, the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and the Muslims defended, and defense is based on nature and reason. By studying all these wars, this result is obtained. During his 13-year presence in Mecca and at the beginning of his prophetic period, the Prophet (p.b.u.h) witnessed only hardship, suffering, and torture, and Muslims endured these cases too; some of them were exiled, and others migrated to Abyssinia. After emigrating to Medina, from the second year of emigration, the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) witnessed the imposed wars. He defended against the attacks of the Mushrekin (Polytheists),” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“After the Khawarij, other people followed this extremist thinking in various ways. A century ago, the horrific incident of the demolition of al-Baqi (1806) was an example of the harsh view of ISIL and Takfiris. Owners of this view consider killing obligatory and educate their children with the words murder, violence, and terror. While according to the Islamic view, children should be brought up with kindness, love, and compassion for God and man,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the extremist thought of the Khawarij.

“In human society, some people create fear about Islam and write articles about it, and introduce the Prophet (p.b.u.h) as a power seeker and warrior. While the whole existence of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) was mercy and kindness. The polytheists harassed the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and poured dirt on him, but he prayed for them. Even he would visit the polytheists on the day when they did not pour dirt on him. Some people said to the Prophet (p.b.u.h) “Curse them (the polytheists),” but he replied, “O God! Guide my people, for they do not know”,” he continued.

“They committed atrocities and crimes against humanity and committed oppression. What sin have 13- and 15-year-old girls committed? They were studying to eliminate ignorance. Eliminating ignorance can lead to the growth of society, and make it a progressive society,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“The dangerous enemy created Wahhabism in order to hide the mercy of Islam. Because if the man becomes acquainted with the merciful thinking of Islam, he will incline to it. Quranic chapters begin with “بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ” (In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful), a sentence that refers to the Mercy and Compassion attributes of God. Words of kindness, humanity, and value, such as Rahman and Raouf, have been mentioned many times in the Quran,” clarified Ayatollah Ramazani, pointing out that the dangerous view of ISIL is made by the enemies of Islam.

“In dealing with non-Muslims, we must treat them well, because God says in the Qur'an: “قُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا” (speak kindly to mankind) (Quran, Sura al-Baqarah, verse: 83). The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said that even if a non-Muslim asks a Muslim for help and he does not respond and does not support him, he is not a Muslim. But we see that an extremist thought destroys a society that must seek science, knowledge, rationality, spirituality, and relationship with God, and emphasize the development of its relationship and be on the path to a peaceful life,” he continued.

“The spirit of resistance of the Afghan people, especially the youth of this country, has always been well-known. They must resist misconceptions, and follow the path of correct knowledge about Islam, a rational Islam that is based on justice and resists dictators by reason and nature. Those who seek to attack and encroach on the honor of a country and its intellectual and geographical borders must be resisted,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“These pure teenagers were killed without any guilt, and killing any of them means killing all of humanity. May God punishes the perpetrators of these violent actions so that these heartbreaking and painful scenes will not happen again in human society,” he mentioned.

It should be mentioned that on the evening of Saturday, May 8, 2021, 85 people were martyred and more than 150 were injured in three consecutive explosions in front of Sayed al-Shuhada High School in the west of Kabul (Dasht-e Barchi). The bombings took place in the 13th security district west of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. As the school closed and students left, a Toyota Corolla car bomb exploded at the entrance to a clinic connected to the school. Then, as the students were fleeing, two landmines exploded in their path.

“All over the world, many people are fascinated by the supplications of Imam Sajjad (a.s.), and when Christians become acquainted with these supplications, they recite them many times,” added Ayatollah Ramazani.

“These two organizations must develop their international vision in order to achieve the reformist atmosphere objective of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, describing the mission of the Beseh-Rahbari (Supreme Leader’s Representation Office) and the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Participation in election social right, duty of all Iranian citizens: Ayatollah Ramazani

Participation in election social right, duty of all Iranian citizens: Ayatollah Ramazani

Tuesday, 15 June 2021

As the presidential election and the elections for Islamic councils of cities and villages approach, a virtual enlightening meeting for the University of Applied Science and Technology of district two (Gilan, Mazandaran, and Golestan provinces), entitled “Conscious Participation”, was held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

In this webinar, referring to the necessity of holding the enlightening meetings as the presidential election approach, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “It is essential to inform the people about the importance of maximum turnout in elections.”

Congratulating the Dahe-e Keramat (Ten days of Benevolence), the anniversary of the birth of Imam Masoumeh (a.s.) and Imam Reza (a.s.), the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “Benevolence and dignity are important issues that are also related to the issue of elections and the people.”

“‘Akram’ (most benevolent and dignified) is one of the names of God, and the Prophet (p.b.u.h) has been sent to human society as “Karim” (who has benevolence dignity),” he added, stating that the preservation of human dignity is the concern of God Almighty.

“The most important task is to maintain the dignity and status of the people, which must be taken into account,” noted Ayatollah Ramazani, pointing out that the Quran is the textbook of dignity and the divine angels have been introduced as dignified ambassadors.

“The Islamic Revolution has changed the region equations in the international arena and created a kind of authority in the field of social and political Islam,” stated the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts, “Our Islamic Revolution (of Iran) has been a fundamental change in the present century.”

“Today, the leadership of this Islamic system has been entrusted to the Supreme Leader of the Revolution (Ayatollah Khamenei) and he continues the same school of Imam Khomeini,” he added, “The holy system of the Islamic Republic is a miracle founded by Imam Khomeini.”

Saying that Islam, leadership, and people are the three pillars of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ramezani emphasized, “Strengthening these pillars leads to strengthening the Islamic system and weakening it leads to weakening the Islamic system.”

Referring to the pillar of Islam, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “It is the pillar, the legitimacy and the content of the system, and we must look deeply at it.”

Referring to the leadership of the Islamic system, he noted, “Today, the Islamic Revolution, with the pillar of powerful leadership, has been able to be present in the world with rationality, spirituality, justice, and resistance and show its authority.”

“The presence of the people in the Islamic society and political system of Iran was considered as a pillar not only today but also in the past in religious teachings and beliefs,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the third pillar, that is the people.

“That the best and most efficient people should be appointed to positions, and that people should have an active presence in their destiny, are two important lessons from Ghadir,” stated the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts, pointing out that Imam Khomeini stated that the reason for the “Ghadir” was to participate people in their destiny.

“If human society wants to achieve sovereignty based on justice, people’s presence in it must be powerful,” Ayatollah Ramezani added, “The greater the presence of the people, the greater the authority of the system.”

“According to the Supreme Leader, we all need to know that defense capabilities, and the power of diplomacy, give power to the country, and more than that, it is the nation and the people of a country that give it power,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Everyone should try to achieve maximum turnout in the upcoming elections because this participation strengthens the system’s acceptance and increases its power in the international arena,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the Supreme Leader’s political jurisprudence view.

“One of the main tactics of the enemies is to create discord between the people and the officials and to create despair and hopelessness in the society,” he said, “The maximum turnout in the elections shows the enemies that they cannot infiltrate the system.”

“The weakening of the Islamic system will create an opportunity for the enemy to strike it,” said Ayatollah Ramezani, pointing out that the enemy’s multimedia has made every effort to create despair and hopelessness in society.

“During the forty-two years since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, great and fundamental works have been done in the scientific and military sectors, to the extent that the Islamic country (Iran) has become an important power in the region and internationally, and puts world powers at the negotiating table with it,” stated the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“In the second phase of the revolution, the issues of science, ethics, spirituality, the realization of justice, the fight against corruption and the Islamic lifestyle, as software for the realization of Islamic civilization must be seriously considered,” he emphasized, pointing out that the integration of the three pillars of Islam, the leadership and the people, has caused the Islamic system to pass the first forty years and enter the second phase of the revolution.

“The maximum turnout will lead to more attention and seriousness of the officials in the executive affairs,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, considering the maximum turnout in the elections as necessary.

To boycott election due to disqualification some candidates, not belief of believer, sympathizer of Islamic system

“Unfortunately, some people say that they only want to boycott the election, and say that they will not vote because of the disqualification of some candidates, and recommend others not to participate in the election,” Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Such words are not the belief of the believer and sympathizer of the Islamic system (of Iran). It is important that every Iranian, as an effective citizen, exercises his social right and participates in the elections.”

“The three pillars of the system should have tried to put less economic pressure on the people, but today we faced unemployment, discrimination, and so on,” he stated, noting that Iran has been facing economic pressures and sanctions, and sometimes shortcomings and mismanagement in various sectors.

“The enemy wants to take advantage of this opportunity to show that participation in the elections has no effect,” added Ayatollah Ramazani, “In the field of justice, we did not achieve the desired results and objectives that we had drawn. Therefore, people are somewhat disappointed.”

“Today, we must try to acquaint the people with the ideals of the (Islamic) system and security that have been achieved in the region through the struggles of the martyrs and General Soleimani,” pointed out the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“One example of this bravery was the recent popular resistance in Gaza and the resistance of the Palestinians, which led to Netanyahu losing the election,” he said, “The bravery of the fighters in the holy defense (Iraq-Iran imposed war) and the protection of the country’s geographical sovereignty is a great honor.”

“One should not blame the whole system for the negligence of some officials,” Ayatollah Ramazani clarified, “The enemies are trying to formulate their future policies according to the level of people's participation in the elections.”

“The candidates spoke freely in their debates, and complete freedom of expression was observed in these views, which was not the case before the Islamic Revolution,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the fact that seven candidates were chosen for the presidential election according to the law and by the Guardian Council.

“In these three debates, sometimes some candidates, in addition to performance criticism, also insulted other candidates, which we criticized about,” he mentioned.

“If the candidates had only scrutinized the programs in depth, some insults would not have taken place,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, emphasized that the candidates should manifest the elections’ ethics.

We must elect a president who feels responsible for all citizens

“In the presidential election, we should look for people who have passed management courses while having the ability,” the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts stated, “A person must be elected who is the president of all people and feels responsible for all citizens.”

“People should feel that a powerful president with a strong team and a young spirit has come, and can make a difference in the political, social, economic, and cultural spheres,” he said, emphasizing the need to give hope to society at this critical juncture.

“Iran, with its vast underground resources, agricultural lands, industrial sector, military, etc., can excel in every way and show its power,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, “In its second phase, the Islamic system of the revolution needs change in all areas and sectors.”

“Unfortunately, today we are witnessing the closure of some factories, the problem of unemployment and high inflation,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly “However, the feeling of hopelessness should not be conveyed to society.”

“We call on all brothers and sisters who believe in the Islamic system to go to the polls on Friday and once again disappoint the enemy,” he added, “With rationality in decision-making, jihadi and revolutionary action, and in order to achieve the spiritual growth and development of the society, the justice seekers of the society must also participate in the elections.”

“The enemies of the revolution should know that even if some people do not participate in this election, it does not mean that they do not accept the system, but they are heartbroken and pressured because of some officials’ negligence,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani.

“We call on all those who are somehow heartbroken and dissatisfied, to participate in the elections to entrust the responsibility on someone who has the power and authority to effectively form a powerful government,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“People who believe in the Islamic system must also be vigilant. Because the foreign media is trying to prevent anyone from participating in the election,” he mentioned.

“The president-elect must address social harms such as poverty, prostitution, class distance, divorce, addiction, immigration, rent, embezzlement, and some corruption,” added Ayatollah Ramazani, “The president must try to solve the problems with four-year planning and jihadi management.”

“In the way of the Islamic system, the Iranian people sacrificed their lives and property. Some mothers have sacrificed five or six martyrs, and are proud to have sacrificed for a government that has the light of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school,” said the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts, stating that everyone should try to preserve the dignity of the people.

“Everyone wants to know what the outcome of this election will be. The wider the presence of the people, the happier the freedom seekers. We must give hope to the freedom seekers of the world and the offspring of the revolution in the international arena,” he said, pointing out that the oppressed of the world are attached to the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

It should be mentioned that the webinar “Conscious Participation” was organized by the office of the Leadership Institution of the University of Applied Science and Technology in District 2 and the office of the Basij of the University Professors of the University of Applied Science and Technology of Guilan Province.

Participation in the elections entitles us to demand from the president-elect: Ayatollah Ramazani

Participation in the elections entitles us to demand from the president-elect: Ayatollah Ramazani

Friday, 11 June 2021

As the presidential election approaches, pointing out that during more than forty years of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian nation has always sacrificed their life, property and children for the Islamic homeland in various fields, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani said, “Everyone must work for the rights of the Iranian people, and prevent pressure on them.”

“The reduction of power and the weakening of the public diplomacy of the Islamic system are other consequences of low participation of the people in elections,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the decrease in security, as one of the harms of low turnout in the elections.

“The (Iranian) people participated in the right-against-wrong fronts (the eight-year Iran-Iraq imposed war), maintained the country’s borders, and have been present in various authority arenas of the Islamic system, including marches and Presidential, Parliament, Assembly of Experts and Islamic Councils elections,” he stressed, pointing out that maintaining the pillar of public turnout and strengthening the nation’s capacity in elections, is the duty of all branches of power of the country, including the legislature, the judiciary and the executive.

“Participating in the election entitled us to be demanding of the elected person,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, stating that the election is a social right of citizens that should be used.

“The president-elect is not the president of a particular group, rather he is the president of the entire Iranian nation,” pointed out, the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“We all Iranians, participate in the elections in order to have a strong Iran and to increase the power and authority of the system,” he stated, referring to the participation in the elections as the emphasis of Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Khamenei).

“By participating in elections, we choose the right person, and determine the destiny of ourselves and our society,” noted Ayatollah Ramazani, saying that participating in the elections is the order of the glorious martyrs of the Islamic homeland, including the martyred General Qassem Soleimani.

“Some argue that because the previous president failed to meet the demands of the people, and he failed to keep his promises, they will not participate in the election,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, “This conclusion is the goal and desire of the enemies of the Revolution and Islam, and only the enemy will be pleased if the people do not participate in the elections.”

“Only those who participate in the election can demand from the president-elect. If someone does not participate, the right to claim will be taken away from him,” he stated.

“From these options, the people must choose the right person and vote for him,” noted Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the confirmation of seven presidential candidates by the Guardian Council.

“The president-elect should know that the management of the country, which is the busiest executive responsibility, is entrusted to him,” added the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts, noting that the president is facing difficult conditions in the coming term.

“The president must choose a very strong team that is cheerful and has a youthful spirit,” he added, stating that the main facilities of the country, including organizations and ministries, are at the disposal of the president.

“With jihadi management and the use of a young, capable, faithful and powerful managers, the president can solve many problems of the people and society,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“Every (political) position is a trust that must be properly maintained, and the individual must be the trustee of that responsibility,” emphasized the Secretary-General of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) World Assembly, stating that every position in the Islamic system is a golden opportunity to serve people.

“Presidential candidates must prepare for a four-year term with a new space, new approach and new agenda,” he said in the end.

Nowadays, golden opportunity to introduce Islam: Ramazani/ Imam Khomeini’s honesty, reason for the survival of Iran’s Islamic Revolution: Khalid Mulla

Nowadays, golden opportunity to introduce Islam: Ramazani/ Imam Khomeini’s honesty, reason for the survival of Iran’s Islamic Revolution: Khalid Mulla

During his visit to Iraq, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, met Sheikh Khalid Abdul Wahab Mulla, President of the Iraqi Ulema Association.

Nowadays, golden opportunity to introduce Islam: Ramazani

In this meeting, referring to the role of ulema, Ayatollah Ramezani stated, “Throughout the Islamic history, the role of Ulama (Islamic Scholars) has been prominent at all times. Today, given the current situation in the international arena, this presence can undoubtedly be very important and necessary.”

“In my speech at Imam Khomeini’s house in Najaf, I referred to verse 143 of Surah Al-Baqarah. In this verse, God says, “وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا” (Thus We have made you a middle nation). This verse refers to the role of scholars. In interpreting this verse, Sunni scholars have defined the middle nation as “a moderate nation far from extremism.” Of course, Allameh Tabatabai and our teacher Allameh Javadi Amoli, following Allameh Tabatabai, interpreted the verse differently. He says that the Muslim Ummah is a moderate nation, but this point must be inferred from other verses and hadiths. This verse refers to the fact that just as the Prophet (p.b.u.h) is the mediator between the Creator (God) and the creatures, the Prophet (p.b.u.h) receives the truth of revelation as a divine prophet and conveys it to humanity. But after the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), the mediators between the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and human beings are the Ulama (Islamic scholars),” he continued.

“The middle nation is the scholars who mediate between God and His creatures. The role of scholars is very prominent here. According to verse “وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ” (Thus We have made you a middle nation that you may be witnesses to the people), the scholars receive this knowledge and are witnesses to the people, as the Prophet (p.b.u.h) is witness to them: “وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا” (and that the Apostle may be a witness to you). In this regard, the late Allameh Tabatabai said that here, “witness” means model. Scholars are the role model for the Muslim community, and they are the true heirs of the divine prophets,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Islamic scholars, both Shia and Sunni, have a strategic role in showing the path to the destination to the people. If they want to be effective, they must be both jurists in religion and be spiritual. Scholars must be jurists in religion. Religion does not only mean “Osul” (principles) and “Fiqh” (jurisprudence) alone. Rather, it includes all the teachings related to religion, including beliefs, intellectual and moral issues, and discussions of rules and jurisprudence. Scholars must also have spiritual conduct. Sufis pay close attention to this area,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the role of Ulama.

“The combination of Shari’a, Tariqah (knowing the divine path) and truth, is important, and Imam Khomeini has been a clear example in this regard. He was a jurist, a sage, a mystic, and a had divine morality. He collected a set of realities in himself and was able to become a charismatic figure in the human world. Therefore, some Christian scholars said of Imam Khomeini, “He revived us with his Christ-like breath. The religion of Islam and Muslims are indebted to the efforts of Imam Khomeini.” Today, thanks to Imam Khomeini, the guiding task of Ulama are becoming more prominent day by day,” he continued.

“The secular view is one of the dangers that may infiltrate Shiite and Sunni scholars. However, it has already infiltrated. This is one of the great dangers in today's conditions and society. Some even try to omit some Quranic verses, especially those related to resistance. This is an effort being made both in the West and by some Islamic enlightenment thinkers,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Today, there is a golden opportunity to introduce Islam that we have never had before. This makes the duty of the scholars heavier. Martyr Modarres said, “Our religion is our politics and our politics is our religion”. But in analyzing this statement, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said, “In the school of Imam Khomeini, our Sharia is our politics, and our politics is our Sharia; our Tariqah (knowing the divine path) is our politics and our politics is our Tariqah; our politics is our truth and our truth is our politics”,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the opportunity to introduce Islam.

“The Supreme Leader of the Revolution said, “We are at a historical turning point and we are in a special situation. If we are careful and manage it well, we can place the greatest spiritual power and authority against arrogance among Muslims.” Therefore, the greatest fear of the arrogant flow is Imam Khomeini’s Islam, and if we want to do our duty in this matter, we must be brave,” he continued.

“Today, we must be the example of this Quranic verse: “وَقُلْ رَبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَانًا نَصِيرًا” (And say, ‘My Lord! ‘Admit me with a worthy entrance, and bring me out with a worthy departure, and render me a favorable authority from Yourself.’) (Quran, Surah Al-Isra, verse: 80) and ask God to: “وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا” (And those who say, ‘Our Lord! Give us joy and comfort in our spouses and offspring, and make us imams of the Godwary.’) (Quran, Surah Al-Furqan, verse: 74). This is achieved by the truth,” pointed out the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

Imam Khomeini’s honesty, the reason for survival of Iran’s Islamic Revolution: Khalid Mulla

Following the meeting, Sheikh Khalid Abdul Wahab Al-Mulla, Head of the Iraqi Ulama Association, said, “The Jama’at Ulama of Iraq (Iraqi Ulama Association) was one of the first institutions in Iraq to address the issue of Islamic unity. This institution supports Islamic movements in general. It supports both Imam Khomeini and Sheikh Ahmad Yassin.”

“Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini was also an ascetic and a defender of Islam and Muslims. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, despite all the facilities available to him, he became closer to God. The reason for the victory and survival of this Revolution (Islamic Revolution of Iran), from a mystical point of view, was Imam Khomeini’s honesty with God, which extended the life of the revolution,” he continued.

“Although there are shrines of Imams, mosques, sources of emulations, and Ulama in Iraq, I am very worried about the future of the Islamic movement in this country. In Iraq, we are witnessing the emergence of the anti-Islamic flow, which is supported by the United States and Israel. We are responsible for the youth and their distance from religion. During Saddam’s regime, Muslim Ulama were executed, and after the fall of this regime, we Ulama were released. The fatwa of the Marjaiyat preserved Iraq. But now we are witnessing deviations in Iraq, and (unfortunately) some scholars in this country have approached the secular flow, and they speak in the language of this flow that religion should be separated from politics,” added the Head of the Iraqi Ulama Association.

“In order for the religious movement in Iraq to become more active, we must cooperate with religious institutions active in Iran, such as the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought. Today, if a cleric wants to approach the people, he must follow their way. While this is wrong, and people should follow a cleric, he should not follow people,” stated Sheikh Khalid Abdul Wahab Al-Mulla, considering it necessary to activate religious institutions.

“The United States and Israel seek to cast doubt on our religion and religious denominations. Some in Iraq talked about the normalization of the relationship with Israel, these issues affect our youth. In the face of such a flow, we have to be closer to God, to cooperate truly with each other, and not to be afraid of speaking of the truth. This is while our enemies are not ashamed to say false words,” he continued.

“In Iraq, some chanted slogans against Iran. This is while that if we examine the American crimes and Iranian services since the beginning of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, it becomes clear which country we should chant against. We need to inform the people about these issues,” added the head of the Iraqi Ulama Association.

“When we study the life of Imam Khomeini or any other religious figure, we must manifest their conducts in our character. If Imam Khomeini was alive, and he observed the irreligious youth, he would have taken a stand and told the Ulama that they should stand against the secular flow and say that Islam is the solution to all problems,” stated Sheikh Khalid Abdul Wahab Al-Mulla, considering it necessary to follow the example of Imam Khomeini.

“Although the Islamic Republic of Iran has been under siege for 42 years, we are witnessing comprehensive progress of Iran in various dimensions, especially the scientific dimension. This progress is visible to everyone. The progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran is not only due to the efforts of manpower, but this progress is also due to divine grace. The Islamic Republic of Iran is the fruit of Imam Khomeini's life,” he continued.

“The Supreme Leader of Iran pays attention to all the affairs of Muslims. We saw that Hamas leaders said they would not forget Iran’s aid. The Bosnian people have said before “We are Sunnis, but if it were not for the help of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, the capital of our country would have fallen”,” added the head of the Iraqi Muslim Ulama Association.

“We are concerned about the aggression against Islamic beliefs, and unfortunately some scholars were also exposed to this danger. To counter this flow, we must act through television networks, cyberspace, holding various programs and strengthening religious gatherings. Meeting Ayatollah Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, is an incentive for us in this regard,” he mentioned.

Ground prepared for great Islamic civilization: Ramazani/Iran-Iraq bilateral cooperation developing: Adel Abdul Mahdi

Ground prepared for great Islamic civilization: Ramazani/Iran-Iraq bilateral cooperation developing: Adel Abdul Mahdi

Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, met Adel Abdul Mahdi, former Iraqi Prime Minister, and a member of the General-Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

Ground prepared for great Islamic civilization

In this meeting, referring to Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi’s views on Iran, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “One of our main plans (on this trip to Iraq) was to meet you. I know your scientific character, your presence in France, and your cultural activities. You have a very positive view of Iran, and during your tenure as Iraq’s prime minister, you provided invaluable services in building interaction between Iran and Iraq. Also, valuable actions have been taken in your course.”

“Today, we must take an up-to-date look at religious, value, and moral activities and pay serious attention to cyberspace. Also, in our views to our audience, we need to seriously reconsider. The youth should be our serious audience, and we should pay special attention to the Quranic lifestyle,” continued Ayatollah Ramazani.

“Certainly, there has never been an opportunity to propagate Islam in the international arena like today. The most detailed scientific discussions about Islam are now taking place at major universities around the world, including Harvard, Cambridge, and the Sorbonne. I have been in contact with the Sorbonne University for about 11 years and this relationship still continues. The most detailed Islamic issues, including attention to seminary schools, in Qom, Najaf, Karbala, Mashhad, and Samarra are taking place there,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“We are now facing the fact of the spread of fake spirituality in the West. Today, there are more than 4,000 fact spiritualities and newfound mysticism such as Osho. Therefore, we must create a discourse for spirituality and rationality based on the Book (Quran) and traditions (of the Prophet). We are now facing changes and distortions in concepts such as justice, spirituality, rationality, and resistance. So, we must strive to express the Islamic view in these areas. However, it seems that the 21st century will be a century of spirituality,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the spread of fake spiritualities in the world.

“Iraq can be one of the spiritual centers in the world. Because there are six great Imams buried in this country, each of whom can be a model for human society. Of course, the Infallible Imams (a.s.) are not just for the Shiite audience, and I believe that they can be role models for the Shiites, Muslims, followers of other religions, and (even) for the whole of human society,” he continued.

The strategy that we emphasize in the new era in the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly is based on rationality, spirituality, justice, and resistance, and all these concepts should be explained based on the school of the AhlulBayt (a.s.). The infallible Imams (a.s.) themselves demand the same from us. This statement of Imam Sadeq (a.s.) makes us ponder that he said, “We want our followers to be wise, understanding, knowledgeable, with forbearance, patience, loyalty, and tolerance.” This hadith indicates that human society should move towards a deep understanding, rationality, and moral values such as patience, forbearance, fidelity, and tolerance,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“We must think, be careful and plan for the youth, women, and lifestyle in Islamic civilization. In a letter to the youth of the West, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution also pointed out very precise and profound points. Attention to women is also essential. Half of the world’s population is made up of women, and they can make a difference in the religious, cultural, and social spheres. They have a significant capacity. In my opinion, the religion of Islam and the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) are among the strong defenders of women’s rights,” said Ayatollah Ramazani.

“There are opportunities for us that provide the ground for the realization of a great Islamic civilization. Accordingly, the study of the Arbaeen is very important. Arbaeen has a great potential for the realization of true spirituality. The most important spiritual conference in the Islamic world is Hajj, but Arbaeen is the largest spiritual conference of Muslims in the world,” he specified, considering it necessary to pay attention to the discussion of lifestyle in Islamic civilization.

“Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi pointed out the important point that there is an interaction between rationality and resistance. I want to say that resistance is the rule of rationality, and even higher, resistance is the same as rationality,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Today, there are two groups of intellectuals and extremists among Muslims, and both groups hit Islam like two scissors. One group advocates compassionate Islam, and some enlightened thinkers seek absolute peace even with enemies. While there is no absolute peace in Islam and peace must be based on justice. Unfortunately, another group is committing terror and violence, and it has caused us to face not only Islamophobia but also anti-Islamism today,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the need to avoid extremism.

“We believe that the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) was sent by God as a prophet to spread mercy in the world. Resistance to tyranny and arrogance is not only divine mercy, but also it is divine mercy itself. Many verses of the Holy Quran are about resistance. There are 400 Quranic verses related to war, jihad, and resistance. As for Khums, according to some, there is one verse and according to others, there are 4 to 5 verses. There are less than 100 verses in the Quran about prayer, the pillar of Islam,” he continued.

“Today, thanks to the blood of Martyr Soleimani, the resistance movement has become an international movement, and the effects of this martyr’s blood are definitely greater than his life. Coordination between Iran and Iraq is very valuable in terms of resistance. The holy blood of Martyr Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes were mixed, and this is a metaphor for the inseparable unity of the Iranian and Iraqi nations. In this regard, today we have a very important responsibility and mission,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Many people did not believe that in the age of liberalism, Islam could play a role in the social sphere. But Imam Khomeini made it clear to us that Islam in the political arena can govern society, and with his great movement (the Islamic Revolution of Iran), the social rules of Islam were revived. Now the greatest power to oppose the West and Westernism is Islam, which has developed quantitatively and qualitatively in the world, and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, as a religious reformer, the Imam of Muslims and a source of emulation, is influential in this regard,” he mentioned.

Iran-Iraq bilateral cooperation developing: Adel Abdul Mahdi

Following the meeting, expressing his satisfaction with the meeting with Ayatollah Ramazani, Adel Abdul Mahdi said, “It is a great honor for me to meet the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly. This is an important meeting to learn about the scientific position of Ayatollah Ramazani. I participated in the expansion of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Europe, including in France, and the establishment of this Assembly was very important.”

“These days are the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini. He saved not only the Iranian nation, but the Islamic world, and the whole world. He changed the world from east to west,” he continued.

“Without rationality, one cannot have spirituality. In the current state of the world, if we have no resistance, we will not be able to change the situation. Rationality and resistance are both the same. But each is a different tool for achieving a single goal,” stated the former Iraqi Prime Minister, considering the four strategies of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly as interrelated.

“All those who were appointed as the Secretary-General of this assembly were great scholars and suitable personalities for this position. This shows that Imam Khamenei has a good choice,” stated Adel Abdul Mahdi, referring to the Supreme Leader’s appropriate appointment for the post of Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“After all the efforts to normalize relations between the Arab countries and Israel, in the two-week war between Israel and Gaza, everything changed, and the Islamic nations stood up. Sometimes the enemy defeats us with the power he has, but we can make up for that defeat with victory. Because we have the right, justice, and the Infallible Imams (a.s.). Saddam’s regime ruled Iraq for 35 years and instilled fear in the people and imprisoned its opponents. But we, who were a small population, were able to win and finally, that tyranny was eliminated,” added the former Iraqi Prime Minister.

“Today, millions of people participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage. This pilgrimage is not only related to Iraq but also the Islamic world and the whole world. Arbaeen pilgrimage lasts about 40 days and the number of participants in this ceremony is more than the number of pilgrims in Hajj. This happens only with the power of faith. Power is not about having government and property. Rather, our strength is based on faith. Of course, there are problems. The enemy is not weak and seeks to hit us. After the martyrdom of Martyr Soleimani, thousands of Mujahideen have taken the path of this martyr. It can even be said that now, “Martyr Soleimani” is stronger than “General Soleimani” alive,” stated Adel Abdul Mahdi, referring to the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

“In favor of Muslims and Shiites, Iran sacrificed many of its interests, and this is obvious. Some accuse Iran of being sectarian, while Iran supports the Palestinian people who are Sunnis, and because of this support, it has suffered a lot of pressure and sanctions. One of the factors of our victory is the tyranny of the enemies. They cannot convince people of their actions. Examining Israeli newspapers, I noticed that there are many internal conflicts between the Zionists. They are suffering from extremism within themselves. We see signs of victory, and there are many signs of moving forward,” he continued.

“Due to Iran’s toughness, the Palestinians’ view has changed, and now, Hamas in the middle of Gaza praises the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Supreme Leader,” added the former Iraqi Prime Minister.

“Some in Iraq, and some in Iran, oppose the relationship between the two countries. These animosities have existed since the colonial period, and are disappearing. In these matters, one should not be superficial. There is solidarity between the nations of Iran and Iraq, and the blood of the martyrs of these two countries is mixed. Bilateral cooperation between Iran and Iraq continues and will develop,” continued the member of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“In interacting with others, martyr Soleimani paid attention to detail and was well aware of the situation around him. He worked to unite the ranks and bring others closer together. Without Martyr Soleimani, the battle with ISIL could not have been won. He personally went on reconnaissance operations of dangerous areas. He was the last person to leave before the fall of Tal Afar. Martyr Soleimani was on the front lines in the battles and did not accept being behind the line, and we saw this in the battles in Iraq and Syria. Martyr Soleimani was a politician, a great diplomat, and a prominent warrior. His stability in battles shattered the equations of the enemy. Martyr Soleimani was a great mujahid, but he was extremely humble,” stated Adel Abdul Mahdi considering Martyr Soleimani a strategic figure.
