In this meeting, Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “Today, the needs of young people must be addressed, one of which is understanding the philosophy of life. In this regard, due to the neglect of women in societies, girls and women should pay more attention to their position and philosophy of life.”

“Being alive is different from living,” he continued, “Living is related to the purpose of creation and human identity. Today the enemies are trying to take away the human identity of the believer and his close relationship with the Creator and train him in such a way that he is indifferent to his religion, faith, and responsibilities.”

Regarding the other needs of the youth, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “The youth need dignity and respect and want their dignity to be preserved and others to respect them. These are their rights. They want to be appreciated, to be independent, and to take care of their affairs.”

“Today, individual work is not enough, and work must be done in groups,” he said about other needs of the youth, “The youth need mental and psychological security. Otherwise, they get depressed. Also, they need affection. Of course, this is the need of all age groups, but it is more prominent among young people.”

In another part of his speech, the seminary professor stated, “After the Islamic Revolution, Iran is known with the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.). According to the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.), young people should have a spirit of sacrifice, and wherever necessary, be pioneers and volunteers in the fields.”

“Imam Khomeini (r.a.) believed that young people are beloved by God. God brags about the prayer of a young person “s/he could be in sin but speaks to Me,” and orders the angels to “hear the prayer of the youth”,” he continued.

Regarding the need to pay more attention to the youth, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, stated, “In hadiths, the attention of youth is emphasized: Pay more attention to young people because of their natural and pure qualities.”

Introducing sincere striving as another characteristic of youth from Imam Khomeini’s point of view, he added, “The youth are hardworking and work sincerely. For example, the youth of Pakistan were pioneers in helping solve problems such as floods and earthquakes, they worked for God, and this action of theirs is of great value.”

“From the point of view of the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.), youth have gentle, spiritual, and guided, not hard, and cruel hearts. On the other hand, the youth have strong physical strength as well as determination, so they can take steps to achieve high goals,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

Also, regarding the duties of contemporary youth from the perspective of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, he said, “From the Supreme Leader’s point of view, the contemporary youth should be pious and value-oriented, and his criteria should be based on human and divine values, not material values.”

Regarding other duties of the youth, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “From the point of view of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, the youth should seek to study both religious and experimental knowledge. This is how society will grow. While a society that does not have knowledge will be weak. Muslim countries were once the best in terms of science, so the Westerners learned many sciences from us. Therefore, in the future, Muslims must reach the first place in the world in terms of science, and this will cause the growth of Muslims in the world.”

“Being insightful and knowledgeable is one of the other duties of youth from the Supreme Leader's point of view,” he added, “The youth must be aware of what is happening to Muslims in the world, of betrayals, enmities, and massacres. Today some are trying to humiliate Muslims. Therefore, we must be aware of the developments of the world. Today, Gaza has become a big prison. During the recent Zionist attacks on the Strip, 1,700,000 people have been displaced, 5,000 children have been martyred, and more than 15,000 Palestinian people have been killed so far.”

“Playing social roles is another duty of the youth. Young people should play roles in different national and international arenas. Also, girls need to be worthy mothers of the future and social activists in the field of education. A woman should be a teacher at home, and also play roles in social activities,” continued the professor of higher levels of Qom Seminary.

“Trust in God, recourse to divine saints and AhlulBayt (a.s.), and learning knowledge are other duties of the youth. We must learn and teach religion correctly. On the other hand, the young generation should know their role models, and know who they follow. Today there are worthy examples that we should make our role models. Also, Lady Zahra (a.s.) and Lady Zaynab (a.s.) are role models for all women in the fields of education and social activity,” he added.

Referring to the necessity of tireless work and effort by young people, he reminded, “The youth must participate in scientific, cultural, political and economic jihad fields, and be tirelessly active. They must know themselves and God properly to be true believers,” Ayatollah Ramezani said in the end.
