Participation in the elections entitles us to demand from the president-elect: Ayatollah Ramazani

As the presidential election approaches, pointing out that during more than forty years of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian nation has always sacrificed their life, property and children for the Islamic homeland in various fields, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani said, “Everyone must work for the rights of the Iranian people, and prevent pressure on them.”

“The reduction of power and the weakening of the public diplomacy of the Islamic system are other consequences of low participation of the people in elections,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the decrease in security, as one of the harms of low turnout in the elections.

“The (Iranian) people participated in the right-against-wrong fronts (the eight-year Iran-Iraq imposed war), maintained the country’s borders, and have been present in various authority arenas of the Islamic system, including marches and Presidential, Parliament, Assembly of Experts and Islamic Councils elections,” he stressed, pointing out that maintaining the pillar of public turnout and strengthening the nation’s capacity in elections, is the duty of all branches of power of the country, including the legislature, the judiciary and the executive.

“Participating in the election entitled us to be demanding of the elected person,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, stating that the election is a social right of citizens that should be used.

“The president-elect is not the president of a particular group, rather he is the president of the entire Iranian nation,” pointed out, the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“We all Iranians, participate in the elections in order to have a strong Iran and to increase the power and authority of the system,” he stated, referring to the participation in the elections as the emphasis of Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Khamenei).

“By participating in elections, we choose the right person, and determine the destiny of ourselves and our society,” noted Ayatollah Ramazani, saying that participating in the elections is the order of the glorious martyrs of the Islamic homeland, including the martyred General Qassem Soleimani.

“Some argue that because the previous president failed to meet the demands of the people, and he failed to keep his promises, they will not participate in the election,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, “This conclusion is the goal and desire of the enemies of the Revolution and Islam, and only the enemy will be pleased if the people do not participate in the elections.”

“Only those who participate in the election can demand from the president-elect. If someone does not participate, the right to claim will be taken away from him,” he stated.

“From these options, the people must choose the right person and vote for him,” noted Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the confirmation of seven presidential candidates by the Guardian Council.

“The president-elect should know that the management of the country, which is the busiest executive responsibility, is entrusted to him,” added the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts, noting that the president is facing difficult conditions in the coming term.

“The president must choose a very strong team that is cheerful and has a youthful spirit,” he added, stating that the main facilities of the country, including organizations and ministries, are at the disposal of the president.

“With jihadi management and the use of a young, capable, faithful and powerful managers, the president can solve many problems of the people and society,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“Every (political) position is a trust that must be properly maintained, and the individual must be the trustee of that responsibility,” emphasized the Secretary-General of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) World Assembly, stating that every position in the Islamic system is a golden opportunity to serve people.

“Presidential candidates must prepare for a four-year term with a new space, new approach and new agenda,” he said in the end.
