The statement of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued on Sunday, July 23, 2023, is as follows:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

إِنّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّکْرَ وَ إِنّا لَهُ لَحافِظُونَ

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

“Indeed We have sent down the Reminder, and indeed We will preserve it.” (Holy Quran, Surah: Al Hejr, Verse: 9)

The repetition of the disgusting and heinous act of burning the Quran by a deviant enemy of God and religion, which was carried out with the support of the Swedish police and government, indicates the design and implementation of a malicious plot and conspiracy behind the scenes.

It is evident that the global arrogance criminal front with all its mercenaries and agents has entered the battlefield against Islam and the sacredness of Muslims.

In this heinous and conspiratorial action, the Swedish government is directly responsible and cannot give permission to malicious and criminal individuals to insult the values and sanctities of Muslims under the false pretext of freedom of speech.

While strongly denouncing the disgraceful action of the Swedish police and government in issuing permission to repeat this insulting act, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly calls on all the Muslims of the world to rise up unanimously and in solidarity against this heinous, vile, and dangerous act, and to support their divine holy things, especially the Holy Quran.

The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly calls on the Muslim Ummah and all Islamic countries to rebuke, punish, and sanction the Swedish government with a coherent action and not be satisfied with verbally denouncing and reprimanding, and not accept any justification or apology from the Swedish government, which supports and protect this evil individual that desecrates the Holy Quran.

The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly strongly urges all freedom-seekers and monotheists of the world, that alongside Muslims, to confront the filthy and imperialist politics of sacrilege and spreading hatred, to condemn this heinous act, which aims to promote extremism and violence in the world, spread Islamophobia, and war against Islam and Muslims, to emphasize the confrontation and decisive action against the abuse of the value of freedom of expression, and wants them to make it clear to the governments that support the evil and criminal individuals that insult the holy things, that this condemnation is obligatory and necessary for everyone.

The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly calls on all international bodies and organizations to adhere to their mission and duties in facilitating, paving the way for, and strengthening peaceful coexistence among human societies and to seriously avoid any movement and action that distorts the beliefs of the people and leads to the emergence of tension, discords, and hatred among people and causes the emergence and intensification of anomalies in human societies, so that they do not act against their defined missions and duties.

The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly demands its members and associates, believers in the Holy Quran, and all Muslims of the world, especially in Western countries, as well as rights and freedom seekers of the world that in various ways, such as issuing statements, holding numerous conferences and sessions, meeting and talking with authorities, intellectuals, and thinkers, etc., to enlighten public opinion, and draw their attention to the serious responsibility of spreading peaceful coexistence, respecting the rights of others, preventing hateful movements and insulting the sanctities and religious values of others, and promoting spirituality, ethics, and humanity in human societies.
