Introducing religion in a clichéd way does not motivate the younger generation to religion: Ayatollah Ramazani

In a meeting with elite youth of Karbala, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “We must pay attention to the customs and philosophy of Islamic rules in order to convey the love of God, spirituality, and love of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) to the hearts and souls of the youth.”

Introducing religion in a clichéd way does not motivate the younger generation to religion: Ayatollah Ramazani

In a meeting with the youth organizations of Karbala province, while appreciating this meeting, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “It is very interesting for me to communicate with groups of young people during this trip. I believe that our most important task today is to educate the younger generation.”

“Changes in today’s world, especially in cyberspace, have created a huge gap between the old and young generation. We must understand young people, youth, and the opportunity of youth, and be able to define an identity for the younger generation in the present era, and to understand the language of the young people well,” he added.

“Today, in some countries, identity clinics have been established, and people who have forgotten themselves and their cultural values go there. For example, the Bishop of the Erfurt region of Germany acknowledged that “35% of the region’s youth have become atheists.” Of Germany's 85 million population, about 35 million are atheists. This is due to the fact that Christian priests have not been able to give them intellectual nourishment,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, stating that cyberspace has made many people in the West and even in the Eastern world forget their human and youthful identities.

“Today, unfortunately, we are faced with the introduction of religion in a clichéd way. This method does not lead the young generation to become interested in religion. We must pay attention to the customs and philosophy of Islamic rules in order to convey the love of God, spirituality, and love of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) to the hearts and souls of the youth,” pointed out Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the importance of face-to-face meetings with young people, setting up educational spaces and training camps, and engaging young people in religious interests.

“If we have the love and affection that we express verbally for Imam Hussein (a.s.) in our hearts and deeds, a great event will happen in our life, and our life and behavior will change,” he emphasized.

Deputy Secretary-General’s speech in the meeting

Hojat al-Islam Ahmad Ahmadi Tabar, Deputy Secretary-General and Deputy of Cultural Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly also delivered a speech in the meeting, and said, “Studying the hadiths clarifies the path for us. There is a lot of emphasis in the hadiths to revive the orders of the AhlulBayt (a.s.). In various hadiths, the infallible Imams (a.s.) have provided solutions. Imam Reza (a.s.) said in a hadith, “Learn our knowledge and teach it to others”.”

Reviving the orders of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) is not an easy task, but there are difficulties and troubles along the way. Aba Abdul Hamid said to Imam Sadeq (a.s.), “O son of the Messenger of God (p.b.u.h)! To revive your orders, our living has reached a point where we want to beg from each other.” Imam Sadeq (a.s.) replied, “Do you think that God will leave you alone? You move, take your steps, He will help”,” he added.

“Since its invasion and occupying Iraq, the United States trained a number of young elites at the student and university levels. It has now reportedly established 3,000 NGOs across Iraq, and continues its organizational activities,” added Ahmadi Tabar in another part of his speech, referring to US plans since its presence in Iraq.

“We are now in the age of modernity. In modernity, originality and truth are given to man. Man must find a way to move. The most basic way is community. The infallible Imams said in this regard that a community should be formed, and organization is necessary. It is also possible to find a cure for pain by recognizing it,” he continued.

“Shiites live in about 150 countries and are in the majority in three countries: Iraq, Iran, and Azerbaijan. In other countries, the Shiites are in the minority and they are very oppressed,” said Hojat al-Islam Ahmadi Tabar, presenting statistics on the situation of Shiites in different parts of the world.

“Global arrogance and Israel do not want Iran and Iraq to be united. Today, thanks to a Shiite government, the weak foundations of the Israeli regime have become clear to everyone,” he stated.
