Today’s world thirsty for Quran, its teachings: Ayatollah Ramazani

The opening ceremony of the international section of the first conference on “Family and Spiritual Education”, and the unveiling of the English and Arabic websites of the conference was held on Sunday night, April 17, 2022, in the 29th International Quran Exhibition in Mosalla, Tehran, in the presence of Ayatollah Ramazani, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

In this meeting, stating that due to not knowing the logic of understanding the Quran, some Orientalists seek to introduce the Quran as a book with no purpose, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Some other religious intellectuals claim that the Quran is not a book of law and life; it rather contains sermons and advice that we can benefit from; but what is mentioned about the rules and regulations of Sharia is related to the past; therefore, verses that contain “Resistance” concept and some other issues are not be needed today!”

“The language of the Quran is the language of reason and nature, and for such a language, the past, present and future are no different,” he said.

Some of the teachings of the Quran to educate the sacred tendencies in human beings. According to the late Martyr Motahhari, human tendencies are sensory and non-sensory. In the non-sensory tendency, everyone can benefit from the divine teachings,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“The Quran is the law of life and the savior of mankind and calls humanity to dignity in the true sense of the word,” he said, emphasizing that the Holy Quran calls people from a sensory human being to a rational and intuitive human being.

“We must present the teachings of the Qur'an not only to the Shiites, Muslims and the Abrahamic religions, but also to the mankind,” said the representative of the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

Stating that the international audience should be properly identified, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The international arena and today’s world is thirsty for the Quran and its teachings. The Quran should not be limited to a specific group, but it is for human beings. With this view, we can introduce the Quran as a human book and a prescription for life.”

“Part of our enjoyment of the Quran is through the recitation of this divine book. Even according to the hadiths, looking at the Quran has rewards. But more important is thinking, contemplating, and measuring our actions with the Quran. The Quran should be the book of human life and creation. We need to review and redefine the Holy Quran. The Holy Quran can bring peace to humanity in the true sense of the word and show the way and the destination,” Ayatollah Ramazani said.

In another part of his speech, referring to the family in the Holy Quran, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “The pillar of the family in the Holy Quran is the formation of a family consisting of husband and wife. But today in the West we are facing a serious distortion in the field of family that can threaten the human race.”

“In order for a family to be on the path to spirituality, it must pay attention to the principle of love. If the children receive love in the family, the health of that family will be provided. Family health, as a small community, contributes to community health on a larger scale,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“The spirituality that is emphasized in the Holy Quran in the field of family is not petrified and does not tolerate oppression. It is a responsible spirituality. This sense of responsibility, which God Almighty has placed in man, is a comprehensive sense of spirituality,” he continued.
