There is a decision to legislate against veiled athletes in France: Christine Zahra Guillaume

On the birth anniversary of Lady Zahra (a.s.) and Women’s Week, the first virtual and international meeting of women followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) with the officials of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly was held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

In this meeting, while pointing to the hostile position of the West towards the Islamic view of women, Christian Zahra Guillaume, journalist, documentary filmmaker and member of the European Assembly of Women Followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) stated, “Today, the Western world, especially Europe and France, have taken a very critical stance on the status of women in Islam. In fact, the leading media in these countries publish such positions with the encouragement of feminist groups.”

“Today, there is a decision to legislate against veiled female athletes in France, and I do not know how this will end. The decision calls for the tribune to no longer be available to veiled women eligible to compete in sports, among other areas. Because today, veiled women shine in the university arena and in all the arenas where they could attend. Is it just ignorance or is it a conscious will to hurt?” she continued.

“The slogans chanted by the Western media are deceptive. But the positions of these media about Islam and Muslims do not correspond to the facts we know about Lady Zahra (a.s.),” pointed out the member of the European Assembly of Women Followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.).
