Seminaries must address all religious matters: Ayatollah Ramazani

On Thursday, February 10, 2022, on the sidelines of visiting the exhibition “The Civilization-Making Clergy” and visiting the seminary of Amir al-Momenin (a.s.) in Rasht, pointing out that seminarians have an educational role, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “The seminarians play the role of teachers, educators and guides of religion. Therefore, they must be role models in terms of behavior, morality, beliefs and rules.”

Emphasizing the importance of paying attention to be role models in society for religious scholars, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The seminaries must pay attention to the religiosity of the people, and to achieve this, the religion must be introduced precisely.”

“One must first know the religion, then believe in it, and then preserve the religion. The stage of knowing the religion is the responsibility of the seminarians,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“The seminaries should not be limited to jurisprudence. Rather, they must pay close attention to the set of guiding sciences, including cosmology, theology, knowledge of the origin, knowledge of the resurrection, and so on,” added Ayatollah Ramazani.

“Today, seminaries must address all aspects of religion. Governmental and social aspects are part of those aspects. Many religious rulings will be stopped to implement if the governmental aspect of religion is not taken into account,” stated the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“The seminary society, in addition to addressing individual jurisprudence, must also pay close attention to social jurisprudence. Individual jurisprudence also influences social areas and making society healthy,” he mentioned.

“According to Quranic verses and hadiths, many individual rules, such as prayer, in addition to promoting the spiritual excellence of the believer, can lead to the fight against corruption in society,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.

“Clergies today, must not only prepare themselves for the management of a province and a country, but also prepare themselves for religious management and guidance in the international arena,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Gilan province has vast capacities, including neighborhood with Muslim countries. Therefore, it can have an international seminary, in the true sense of the word. To achieve this goal, we must provide appropriate strategies,” he added.

“To create an international seminary, expert professors must be invited to Gilan. With the presence of prominent seminary professors, we can achieve religious development,” Ayatollah Ramazani said.

“Undoubtedly, the religious management of Gilan province should reach out to capable clerics and scholars who are familiar with the original religious concepts. We must pay close attention to the spirit of religion, namely rationality, spirituality, and justice,” stated the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“Clerics can be role models in society. We must strive in the international arena to be aware of the affairs of our time. If we do so, we will be resistant to attacks,” he said.

“In order to be aware of the affairs of our time, first, we must literally explain religion, second, we must answer the questions of the young generation, and third, we must answer doubts,” Ayatollah Ramazani concluded.
