The director of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly Office in Iraq said, “With the efforts of Imam Khomeini, the Islamic Revolution of Iran achieved victory. Many pressures and conspiracies were made against the Revolution by both the Eastern and Western blocs. But the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) caused all these conspiracies to fail.”

At Imam Khomeini’s first session on Velayat-e-Faqih in Najaf, Ayatollah Hakim’s son burst into tears with enthusiasm

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, the 33rd anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) was commemorated by the Iraqi Office of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in a webinar which was attended by the country’s intellectuals.

Referring to the Occultation of Imam Mahdi (a.s.), Hojat al-Islam Pahlavanzadeh Behbahani, the head of the office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Iraq, as one of the speakers of the ceremony said, “Simultaneously with the start of the Imamate of Imam Mahdi (a.s.), his Minor Occultation began, during which, four people were the Imam’s selected deputies. Before the demise of Ali ibn Muhammad al-Samuri, the fourth selected deputy of Imam Mahdi (a.s.), the Imam announced the beginning of his Major Occultation in a letter.”

“In his special letter, Imam Mahdi (a.s.) emphasized on referring to the narrators of the hadith in the events. Accordingly, the ulama, who are the narrators of the hadith, have a leading role in society, and it is their duty to implement the divine precepts in society. On this basis, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) presented the theory of Velayat-e-Faqih, according to which the rule of affairs is in the hands of the Faqih. Imam Khomeini (r.a.) began to teach Velayat-e-Faqih after migrating to Najaf,” he continued.

Noting the rarity of such issues in the seminaries of that time, the head of the office of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Iraq stated, “When Imam Khomeini (r.a.) began teaching Velayat-e-Faqih discussions in Najaf, Ayatollah Sayed Yusuf Hakim, the son of Grand Ayatollah Sayed Mohsen Hakim, the supreme authority of the time, burst into tears with extreme enthusiasm.”

Referring to the theory of Velayat-e-Faqih, Pahlavanzadeh Behbahani stated, “In this theory, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) argued that the Faqih should have full authority. Accordingly, with the efforts of Imam Khomeini, the Islamic Revolution of Iran achieved victory.”

Also, on the continuous animosity with the Revolution, this professor of the seminary of Najaf said, “Many pressures and conspiracies were made against the Revolution by both the Eastern and Western blocs. But the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) caused all these conspiracies to fail.”

“The Islamic Revolution is progressing every day, and in the light of the Revolution, Iran became a developed country that has stood against the United States,”‌ Behbahani emphasized.

“We saw that Grand Ayatollah Sistani vigorously defended Islam and Muslims by issuing a fatwa on jihad al-Kifa'I (Al-Wajib al-Kifa'i is a kind of religious obligation that addresses no specific person and if it is performed by some duty-bound Muslims, the others will no longer held accountable); the fatwa that saved Iraq and the region, and after its issuance, Iraq was liberated and regained its independence,” he continued.

“Hojat al-Islam Nasser al-Din Ansari, a scholar and researcher on the history of the ulama, said that in response to the question of some ulema on attending Imam Khomeini’s classes, Grand Ayatollah Sistani first stood up in honor of the Imam, and then said, “You cannot understand the value and greatness of Imam Khomeini’s action. But we, who were under siege by Saddam, understand that. I listened to all Imam Khomeini’s sermons” noted the head of the Office of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Iraq.
