Al-Zawawi: Today's resistance in Gaza owes much to Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Khamenei
Dr. Salah al-Zawawi, the ambassador of Palestine in Tehran, while appreciating the valuable support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, described the countries of Syria and Palestine as “twin brothers” and added, “Our history is one. The martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam, who came to Palestine and was martyred, was born in the Syrian port city of Baniyas. He paid a high price for defending Palestine.”
The book, “The Importance of the Golan Heights from the Perspective of Israel’s Security and Its Survival” was unveiled at a ceremony attended by advisers to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the President, the ambassadors of Palestine and Syria, representatives of Islamic Resistance groups and a group of senior government officials. This book was published by the Abna al-Rasul Institute with the participation of the Political Office of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement in Iran and the Committee for the Support of the Islamic Revolution of the Palestinian People.
Dr. Salah al-Zawawi, the ambassador of Palestine in Tehran, while appreciating the valuable support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, described the countries of Syria and Palestine as “twin brothers” and added, “Our history is one. Dr. al-Zawawi continued, “The Palestinian Revolution began at the beginning of 1965 with the support of Damascus and because of this support, various parts of Syria have been repeatedly targeted by Israeli attacks. The Syrians have sacrificed many martyrs in this way, and we believe that they will liberate their land (Golan) with victory.”
In regard to another issue, he stated, “The Palestinians did not dare to be present in Iran before the Islamic Revolution” and added, “Thanks to Imam Khomeini, who founded the Islamic Republic, the situation changed and after him, the leadership of this nation was handed over to Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, which is an honour for us. We declare that we are with the unifying Islamic system, because this system wants to liberate Palestine, and God-willing, we will pray behind it in al-Quds.”
