With the presence of the majority of members, the 190th meeting of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly was held in Mashhad on Friday, March 11, 2022, in three shifts of morning, afternoon and evening. The meeting was attended by Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, Ayatollah Dorri-Najafabadi, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Abolhassan Nawab, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati, Hojat al-Islam Mohsen Qomi, Hojat al-Islam Hadavi Tehrani, Ayatollah Sayed Ahmad Khatami, Ayatollah Mohammadi Iraqi, Hojat al-Islam Mohammad Mahdi Imanipur, Hojat al-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Hojat al-Islam Ali Abbasi (from Iran), Hojat al-Islam Morteza Morteza Al-Ameli (from Africa), Nabil Al-Halbavi (from Syria), Hojat al-Islam Hossein Al-Ma’tuq (from Kuwait), Hojat al-Islam Sayed Ammar Al-Hakim (from Iraq), Moin Daqiq (from Lebanon) and Nader Jaafar (from India) as well as the deputies of the Assembly.

Memorandum of Understanding on Islamic Human Rights at AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly

Considering human rights as a trans-organizational issue, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Every human conscience considers the defending human rights as an indisputable principle. Today, unfortunately, we face the lack of timely action by international organizations on various issues, including Yemen, Afghanistan, Bahrain, as well as the execution of 81 people in Saudi Arabia, 41 of whom were Shiites.”

On Saturday night, March 12, 2022, a ceremony was held at Imam Reza (a.s.) holy shrine, commemorating the martyrs of the Resaledar mosque of Peshawar, Pakistan. In the ceremony which was held in the presence of the custodian of Astan Quds Razavi (a.s.), the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Consul General of Pakistan in Mashhad, and pilgrims and residence in Mashhad – including Pakistani pilgrims – Ayatollah Ramazani delivered a speech.

The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The martyrs of the terrorist attack in a Shiite mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan, are the martyrs and devotees of the path of Islam. Although the perpetrators of this painful crime also identify themselves as Muslims, Islam has nothing to do with violence and the killing of innocent people.”

Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, who was in Mashhad to attend the 190th meeting of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, led Maghrib and Isha prayers in the Imam Khomeini Great Portico at the invitation of Astan Quds Razavi. He also delivered a speech at the commemoration of the martyrs of the terrorist attack on the “Resaladar Mosque” in Peshawar, Pakistan, which was held on the Saturday evening, March 12, 2022, at the shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.).
