In his speech at the martyrdom anniversary of martyr Allamah Arif Hussain Hussaini, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “Martyr Allamah Arif Hussaini was a true soldier of Wilayah. After his martyrdom in 1988, the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) issued a condolence message, which is considered the mission statement of the Ulema of Pakistan.”
ABWA Official Website – In his speech at the martyrdom anniversary of Allamah Sayed Arif Hussein Hussaini, at the Complex of Fiqh (Jurisprudence) Higher Education, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani pointed to the characteristics of Pakistan. “Pakistan is the most populous Islamic country. The people of the country fought for Islam until they achieved independence. Pakistan’s population is growing and could double by 2050 and its governance system is Islamic Republic. The country’s relationship with Iran is not tactical, but strategic, and the union of the two countries can create a great regional power, and more interaction between Pakistan and Iran is in the interest of Islam and Muslims.”
“Pakistan has nurtured the most Islamic preachers,” he said, “The role of Shiite ulama in Pakistan has been prominent in terms of education, culture, and politics. Among the prominent Pakistani ulama who played a leading role was martyr Allamah Sayed Hussain Arif Hussaini. He was a servant, people-oriented, and revolutionary Alem who lived a humble life. Martyr Arif Hussaini was one of the scholars of the time in the true sense of the word. A scholar of time is someone aware of the issues of his country and the Islamic world.”
Martyr Arif Hussaini, defender of authentic Muhammadan Islam
About the personality of martyr Arif Hussaini, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “Martyr Arif Hussaini was a revolutionary and anti-colonial scholar. This brave man knew the domination system. He was educated in the school of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and was familiar with it. After studying in the seminaries of Najaf and Qom, martyr Arif Hussaini returned to Pakistan and did great things in the country. He also provided social services in Pakistan and served the people of the country in the fields of health and economy. This martyr was a defender of the weak and had a comprehensive view of Islam.”
Referring to the characteristics of martyr Allameh Arif Hussaini, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “This martyr was the defender of authentic Muhammadan Islam against the American version of Islam, the luxurious version of Islam, and the version of Islam that serves the domination system. Martyr Arif Hussaini stood against heresies and superstitions, and removing ignorance from Islamic society was one of his concerns. The most important danger for Islamic society is ignorance, and Imam Ali (a.s.) complained to God about ignorant and oblivious people.”
Further in his speech, about the Ashura uprising Ayatollah Ramazani said, “These days are the anniversary of the most difficult days for the family of Imam Hussain (a.s.), who were captured by the enemy after the Karbala incident. Imam Hussain (a.s.) was martyred in the path of destroying ignorance, to save people from ignorance. Martyr Arif Hussaini was one of the great ulama who tried to remove ignorance from Islamic society. Because the enemies used ignorance to humiliate Muslims. Martyr Arif Hussaini’s non-compromise was another characteristic of this martyr, which he learned from the school of Imam Hussain (a.s.). He did not bow to arrogance and fought bravely. His other characteristic was justice. He wanted the wealth of the country to be distributed fairly among people.”
The importance of Imam Khomeini’s condolence message on the martyrdom of martyr Arif Hussaini
The Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly considered martyr Arif Hosseini a scholar of the time. “A scholar of time is someone who knows the enemy, is anti-colonial, familiar with the methods of Western colonialism, and is concerned with guiding society. Martyr Allamah Arif Hussaini was a true soldier of Wilayah. After his martyrdom in 1988, the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) issued a condolence message, which is considered the mission statement of the Ulema of Pakistan. This message of condolence should be the theme of a seminar and conference with the participation of ulama in Pakistan. In his important message of condolences on the martyrdom of martyr Arif Hussaini, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) called the martyr a loyal friend of Islam and the Revolution, and a defender of the people and the weak, whose martyrdom touched the hearts of the clerics. Resistance against the domination system results in martyrdom.”
Referring to Imam Khomeini’s (r.a.) condolence message on the occasion of the martyrdom of Arif Hussaini, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “In his condolence message, the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) considered this martyr as the true son of Imam Hussain (a.s.), the Lord and Master of the Martyrs who reached the position he was seeking. Martyr Arif Hussaini’s thought should be revived and this issue is of great importance. The thought of this martyr was the thought of pure and authentic Muhammadan Islam, which stands against the domination system. Due to the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the only thought standing against the domination system is pure Muhammadan Islam.”
“The Western and Eastern blocs used to be against each other in the world. The Eastern system joined the dustbin of history. But now the only thought that can stand against the Western and domination system is pure Muhammadan Islam; the version that has baffled the world and is now being studied in the world’s prestigious universities to understand its features that enabled it to stand against the domination system. Imam Khomeini (r.a.) used to say that “America cannot do a damn thing against us.” His worthy successor also repeated these words. The Americans have also realized they cannot do anything against Iran,” he continued.
Regarding the danger of heresies, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “In a hadith, Imam Hussain (a.s.) said: “I arose to reform the ummah of my grandfather and revive ‘Enjoining Good and Forbidding Wrong’, and not to oppress.” Because the Imam was facing the loss of traditions and the emergence of heresies. It is the duty of scholars to arise against innovations.”
The language of confronting the enemy is war
In response to a question about whether Islam is a religion of war, he continued, “I want to answer this important question: Is Islam a religion of war or not? Islam is not a religion of war, but a religion of mercy, and the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) was sent for mercy. The management of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) was based on morality. However, he stood against the infidels. The language of interacting with the enemy is being on the battlefield. The only language that can be used against enemies is the language of war.”
“According to Islamic teachings, if the religion of God is left without a helper, He will create people who love God and God loves them. These people are kind to each other, but they are powerful and invincible against tyranny. They strive in the way of God and are not afraid of the blame of those who blame them. This is a blessing from God. The tyrants must be confronted,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
Regarding modern slavery in the present era, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “In ancient times, slave owners had only a few slaves. While in modern slavery, a nation is enslaved. Martyr Arif Hussaini and other martyrs, including Martyr General Qassem Soleimani, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, Fuad Shukr, and Ismail Haniyeh, were at the forefront of the battlefield. Now, the resistance front is not limited to Iran, rather has spread to different countries.”
In the Resistance Front, there is no difference between Shiite and Sunni
Continuing his speech, about the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh by Israel, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “The Zionist enemy thought that by assassinating Martyr Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, could create discord and sedition between Iran and Palestine. But we saw that the greatest religious figure in Iran, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said the funeral prayer for Martyr Ismail Haniyeh. Also, 70 million people in different countries of the world said symbolic funeral prayers for this martyr, which was unprecedented. This action is considered the biggest move for Shiite and Sunni approximation after the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. In the Resistance Front, there is no difference between Shiite and Sunni, rather, what is important is to fight against oppression.”
“About 40 thousand people have been martyred so far,” Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Gaza is a region that the Zionist enemy has turned into a big prison. Such a prison has no similar example in the world. The Zionist regime ignores all the statements of the United Nations. No country in the world violates human rights like the child-killing Zionist regime.”
At the end of his speech, he noted, “We should not allow the enemy to take advantage of Muslims’ ignorance. Ignorance must be transformed into knowledge, and Muslims must be aware and awakened. We must study to understand why Imam Hussain (a.s.) was martyred. Imam’s martyrdom was for the destruction of ignorance, saving Muslims from confusion, and achieving freedom and spirituality, as the greatest achievements of humanity, so that they can grow and evolve.”
