ABWA issued statement denouncing desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden

Following the recent desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued a statement part of which reads, “Issuing permission to burn the Quran by the Swedish government is aimed at the Islamophobia and promoting violence in the world.”

ABWA Official Website – In a statement, while strongly denouncing the heinous act of ignoble people in burning the Holy Book of Muslims, and the Swedish government’s disgraceful act of issuing permission for this insult, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly called for the freedom seekers and monotheists of the world to stand with the Muslims against the vile policy of sacrilege and spreading hatred.

Part of the statement reads, “In the auspicious days of the Abrahamic Hajj, during which the hearts of about 2 billion Muslims are directed towards the House of Revelation and Masjid al-Haram, the House of God, and the glorious gathering of Hajj with the presence of millions of Muslims with the call “I respond to Your call, O Allah!” is being held, the global bloodthirsty arrogance, in a vile and insulting act, set fire to a copy of the holy and heavenly book of Islam under the pretext of the high value of freedom of speech.”

The statement is as follows:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِیم

يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

“They seek to extinguish the Light of Allah with their mouths; but Allah will complete His Light, much as the unbelievers dislike it” (Holy Quran, Surah: As-Saff, Verse: 8)

Once again, the vicious and heinous act of ignoble people in burning the Holy Book of Muslims hurt the feelings of their billion people society all over the world and caused their disgust, anger, and hatred. Unfortunately, this unreasonable action against human nature and rights is not unprecedented and is repeated in Sweden, a country that claims to respect human rights.

Nonetheless, the ever-increasing radiance of God’s luminous words, which are practical messages and teachings to guide people to the right path of life and felicity of humanity in all eras and ages, and in every place, attracts more and more hearts of people who are eager for spirituality, ethics, and monotheism all over the world towards the truth. Global criminal arrogance and international conspiratorial Zionism do not tolerate this evident fact, and therefore they are constantly trying to change the direction of the movement of truth and the fulfillment of the divine promise.

In the auspicious days of the Abrahamic Hajj, during which the hearts of about 2 billion Muslims are directed towards the House of Revelation and Masjid al-Haram, the House of God, and the glorious gathering of Hajj with the presence of millions of Muslims with the call “I respond to Your call, O Allah!” is being held, once again the global bloodthirsty arrogance, insidious and seditious international Zionism, and the satanic groups who follow them, with complete insolence and shamelessness, in a vile and insulting act, set fire to a copy of the holy and heavenly book of Islam through one of their misguided, insolent, and ignoble agents, under the pretext of the high value of freedom of speech. The Swedish government’s unwise and devious decision to issue a permit for the gathering and carrying out this disgusting act, caused by their arrogant nature and under the pretext of freedom of speech, is abhorrent and strongly denounced.

The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly strongly condemns the disgraceful act of Sweden in issuing permission for this insulting act and calls on all freedom-seekers and monotheists of the world to stand together with Muslims against the vile policy of sacrilege and hatemongering, and asks them while condemning this hateful act - which is done with the aim of Islamophobia, making the world insecure, strengthening extremism and promoting violence in the world - to confront its repetition, and to emphasize the necessity of dealing decisively with the abuse of the value of freedom of speech, and not to give up until this rightful demand is achieved.

While condemning the use of the noble concept of freedom of speech as an excuse for anti-cultural actions and the desecration of the sanctities and values of the followers of divine religions, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly once again warns the Swedish authorities to adhere to their grave responsibility in respect of human rights in cases such as respect for the holy things and beliefs of others, prevent the reoccurrence and continuation of such anti-cultural and inhuman actions, and fulfill their duty in confronting anti-human movements and spreading racist hatred.

The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly calls on all international bodies and organizations to adhere to their mission and duties in facilitating, paving the way for, and strengthening peaceful coexistence among human societies and to seriously avoid any movement and action that distorts the beliefs of the people and leads to the emergence of tension, discords, and hatred among people and causes the emergence and intensification of anomalies in human societies, so that they do not act against their defined missions and duties.

The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly demands its members and associates, believers in the Holy Quran, and all Muslims of the world, especially in Western countries, as well as rights and freedom seekers of the world:

To maintain their composure with patience, avoid violent actions, and by following the transcendental commands and teachings of the Holy Quran, display the manifestation of the instructions of this heavenly book and its effects in life in the best way;

In various ways, such as issuing statements, holding numerous conferences and sessions, meeting and talking with authorities, intellectuals, and thinkers, etc., to enlighten public opinion, and draw their attention to the serious responsibility of spreading peaceful coexistence, respecting the rights of others, preventing hateful movements and insulting the sanctities and religious values of others, and promoting spirituality, ethics, and humanity in human societies.
