In an exclusive interview with Iran Press news agency on the sidelines of a press conference on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of Zariya disaster and illegal detaining of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, Ayatollah Reza Ramezani, Secretary-General of the Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly said: "The Muslim countries have to follow up Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub Zakzaky's health and to make the Nigerian government accountable in this regard."
"The status of this prominent figure must be pursued through international organizations and should not be considered as a security issue," he emphasized.
"The international organizations must ask Nigeria's government to pay attention to Sheikh Zakzaki's physical condition and hospitalize him, as physicians and specialists have warned, his health is deteriorating, his left eye is getting blind, several bullets are left inside his body and he is prone to other illnesses," said Ayatollah Reza Ramezani.
"Ignoring the critical health status of Sheik Ibrahim Zahzaky by the international organizations can end up in irreparable consequences in the future," Ramezani warned.
The Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly is an international non-governmental organization (INGO) that was established by a group of Shiite elites under the supervision of the great Islamic authority of the Shiites in 1990 to identify, organize, educate and support the followers of Ahl al-Bayt.
