Quran and AhlulBayt (a.s.) Must Be the Foundation of Islamic Media and Lifestyle: Ayatollah Ramazani

In a ceremony held to honor the creators of special Ramadan programs aired on al-Thaqalayn TV, Ayatollah Reza Ramezani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly praised the event as dignified, solemn, and befitting the sanctity of the Holy Quran. The event was held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Mulla Sadra Park within the IRIB complex.

“This ceremony was organized with elegance and high standards. The presence of prominent Quran reciters, Quranic scholars, and the mother, brother, and sister of martyrs, who are themselves memorizers of the Quran, alongside officials attending the event, is commendable from various aspects,” he stated.

Emphasizing the vast potential of al-Thaqalayn TV and ABNA News Agency, both affiliated with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Ayatollah Ramezani noted, “These two media outlets, drawing upon the international capabilities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and its connections with over 130 Muslim and non-Muslim countries, local communities, preachers, youth, and women across the Islamic world, can transform into exceptional, if not unparalleled, media platforms.”

He went on to say, “We must implement the will of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), which emphasized the promotion of the culture of al-Thaqalayn (the Quran and the AhlulBayt). The Quran and the AhlulBayt (a.s.) are inseparable. While the Quran’s spoken language is Arabic, its language of understanding is the language of reason and Fitrah (innate nature). The Quran refers both to the language of Fitrah and to the language of intellect.”

Referring to approximately 300 Quranic verses related to reflection, reasoning, and contemplation, Ayatollah Ramezani stated, “We must move toward a ‘rational life.’ The Quran’s unique quality is that it elevates a person from being merely sensory to becoming rational, and ultimately, intuitive. This is an ideal journey whose destination is a ‘life of intuitive awareness’.”

The member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts added, “The Quran should become as essential to a human being as breathing. Just as a person constantly needs air, a believer must also breathe through the verses of the Quran. If this intimacy is established, the individual will experience and manifest divine revelation, meaning that he will also witness (feel) God.”

He continued, “If one attains intuitive vision, he will see the Almighty God in every moment of his life. This is an understanding of divine mercy, and a person who perceives God’s mercy will, in turn, show mercy in his interactions with God’s creatures and generate attraction through compassion.”

Referring to the vast educational capacity of the Holy Quran, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The Quran itself is a miracle of spiritual upbringing.”

He quoted the late Abd al-Razzaq Lahiji, saying, “In addition to the verbal miracle, namely the Quran, and the behavioral miracle embodied by the Prophet (p.b.u.h), the Prophet also had an educational miracle, and that was Imam Ali (a.s.), someone who lived in the era of Jahiliyyah (Arab Ignorance) and, through Quranic training, became a manifestation of truth.”

He stressed, “If the Quran is understood and interpreted in this way, it calls humanity to rationality, spirituality, and morality. In that case, Quranic recitations, nasheeds, and competitions, developed in the Islamic Republic thanks to the blessings of the system, will be rightly positioned. Yet what matters more is that the entire course of our lives, including our thoughts, ethics, and lifestyle, be grounded in the Quran.”

Ayatollah Ramezani further emphasized, “We need to reduce our distance from the Greater Weight (the Quran) and the Grand Weight (the AhlulBayt). The closer this gap becomes, the more its effects will be seen in society.”

He added, “Al-Thaqalayn TV can play a pioneering role in areas such as children and youth, families, women, and lifestyle, topics that serve as the software for the new Islamic civilization. When we witness the heart-wrenching scenes in Gaza and see Palestinian children, under such harsh conditions, finding solace in reciting the verses of the Quran, we realize this is part of the Quran’s power.”

Concluding his speech, Ayatollah Ramezani stated, “The art of media lies in presenting the Quran and the AhlulBayt (a.s.) as the central axis of its news narrative. If all matters are viewed through the lens of the Quran and the AhlulBayt (a.s.), a profound transformation will occur in the modern world. We must familiarize the youth with the golden principles of the Quran, derived from its verses and traditions, so that, with the power of reason and thought, we may guide today’s world under the light of al-Thaqalayn.”
