ABWA Official Website - The session of the commission “Scientific Interaction of Seminaries” under the Scientific Conference Umana Al-Rosol (Trustees of the Messengers), chaired by Hojat al-Islam Hamid Maleki, the deputy director of seminaries, was held on Wednesday morning, November 23, 2022, and during the session the researchers introduced and explained their scientific papers.
The first article that was presented in this session was “Dimensions of Mutual Cooperation between Najaf and Qom Seminaries” by Hojat al-Islam Dr. Mohammad Hassan Zamani, Associate Professor of Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University.
“The seminaries of Najaf and Qom are the two main centers of knowledge and teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school and have huge capacities in various fields of Islamic sciences, in the domestic and international fields,” he stated.
“Considering the continuous efforts of the enemy to tarnish the Shiite image in the world, it is necessary for these two institutions to prepare for their mission with extensive scientific and practical cooperation. Now, with holding commemoration ceremony of a great scholar like Ayatollah Al-Khersan, a good opportunity has been provided to make the right decisions to expand the cooperation between the two seminaries,” Hojat al-Islam Zamani said.
Further in this session, Dr. Mohammad Mahmoud Zowain, a professor at Kufa University, presented his article entitled “Efforts of Seminaries and Scientific Centers to Revive Quranic Heritage”.
Then, as the third researcher presenting in this session, Ms. Masoumeh Bahrami, professor of the Women Seminary, presented her article entitled “The Role of Seminaries in the Era of Occultation”.
“Preparation for the Reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.s.), is one of the most important issues of Islam, and seminaries can be seen as representatives of Islam in promoting this matter. Ulama are also the flag-bearers in this field, an example of which is Ayatollah Al-Khersan, who have been active in this regard by authoring scientific works,” she stated.
“The role of seminaries is very important in knowing Imams and understanding Mahdaviat, and this should be accompanied by understanding the today’s conditions and useful activities. Solving and investigating the doubts raised in this field is one of the important challenges of seminaries, and it can be addressed by exchanging opinions and use the capacities of these religious centers,” Ms. Bahrami said.
In the continuation of this commission, Ms. Houria Khodai in presenting her article “The Role of Seminaries in Protecting Religion and Preventing Deviation in Islamic societies”, stated, “After the victory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the process of promoting Islam accelerated and the voice of Islam echoed in the world. This caused an influx of challenges towards religion. In this situation, the task of ulama and seminaries became more crucial than before.”
“Throughout history, the duty of protecting religion from deviations has been the responsibility of ulama and dignitaries, and seminaries’ role has always been vital to do so. In this article, the solution for protecting religion in today’s society, reconsidering traditional methods, understanding today’s needs and confronting cultural invasion has been discussed,” she added.
In the final part of this session, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Abulhasan Nawab, the President of University of Religions and Denominations of Qom, gave a speech about the extra-regional expectations of Qom and Najaf seminaries.
“By seminaries, the orders of Islam should be conveyed to all people, and the addressee of these orders is not only Muslims. The Quran was revealed for man and humanity, which is considered the common aspect of all people,” he said.
“Greater unity between seminaries, in order to take advantage of all capacities can be considered as the necessity of this great step. The University of Religions and Denominations, as a scientific and religious institution, has always been spreading Islamic teachings at the international level,” Hojat al-Islam Nawab added. /345/
