Britain trying to ignite sedition fire: Ayatollah Ramazani

The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “Unfortunately, more than ever, Britain is inciting extremist Shiite and extremist Sunni, and is trying to ignite sedition fire.”

In his visit to Lebanon, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, met with Hojat al-Islam Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan, son of the Allameh Abdul Amir Qabalan, the late Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Shiites of Lebanon.

At the beginning of the meeting, Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan said, “My father, the late Allamah Abdul Amir Qabalan, always sought to form a council for Shiite jurisprudential affairs with the participating of all Shiite countries, so that this council would always strategically try to maintain the Shiite Marjaiat by dealing with Shiite affairs. The responsibilities, actions, and futures of many Shiites are affected by opinions and fatwas. With the presence of Ayatollah Ramazani, I hope that the plan of the late Allameh Qabalan will be realized.”

Following the meeting, while expressing satisfaction with the issues raised by Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “In this meeting, it is as if I am in front of Sheikh Shams al-Din and late Allameh Qabalan. I hope that Sheikh Ahmad will continue the path of his father and other Ulama. In my opinion, the enemies were hostile to Imam Musa Sadr and the late Shams al-Din because of their clear visions.”

“Unfortunately, more than ever, Britain is inciting extremist Shiite and extremist Sunni, and is trying to ignite sedition fire. To the extent that it has even diverted some Marjas from the two denominations. We must consciously watch out for the conspiracies of the seditionist enemy. The Supreme Council of the Shiites of Lebanon should play a more active role, and with an interactive perspective, take steps to participate in society and communicate with other religions and denominations,” he continued.

In the final part of the meeting, Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan said, “Today, Shiite institutions in Lebanon need financial support from the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to be more active in continuing their path. Lebanon’s poor economic situation has left Shiite institutions alone in the country. On the other hand, the United States and the West intend to weaken these institutions through economic pressure to change the election results in their favor.”
