Ghadir, vital event for Islam: Ayatollah Ramazani

Friday, 08 July 2022

The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “Eid al-Ghadir is the Eid of the Prophet’s Ummah and the Eid of Wilayah. Some say Ghadir is just a historical story. While considering Ghadir teachings, this historical event is vital to Islam.”

On Friday, July 8, 2022, in a gathering on “Ethical Man in the Dua of the Makarem Al-Akhlaq of Imam Sajjad (a.s.)”, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “Eid al-Ghadir is the Eid of the Prophet’s Ummah and the Eid of Wilayah. In this Eid, the truth of the Wilayah should be understood, and benefited from it.”

The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Eid al-Ghadir has two important points that are less noticed. First, people should have a role in determining their own destiny, and second, the best people should be appointed to do the work.”

“Imam Ali (a.s.) held the Ghadir gathering after 30 years, hence Ghadir must be commemorated. In addition to feeding people on the day of Ghadir, the revival of the truth of Ghadir is also of great importance,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“According to a hadith of Imam Ali (a.s.), if a person is appointed to a position and after a while realizes that he cannot handle it and there is someone more worthy than him for that position, if he does not hand it over, he will be a traitor,” the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts emphasized, “If we had followed these points, the situation would have been much better than it is now.”

“Some argue Ghadir is just a historical story. While considering Ghadir teachings, this historical event is vital to Islam,” he clarified.

“If all people understand Islam well, the social and political sphere of Islam will be revived. The Wilayah is so important that if everyone loved Ali Imam (a.s.), God would not have created hell,” Ayatollah Ramazani said in the end.
