ABWA Official Website – On Thursday, July 20, 2023, the 2nd conference of “Ashura and Missionaries” was held by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Lovers Assembly at the headquarters of this assembly in Kabul.
Hojat al-Islam Alemi Balkhi, Chairman of the of AhlulBayt (a.s.) Lovers Assembly and Chairman of the Afghanistan Shiite Ulama Council, as one of the speakers of the conference, while explaining the plans of the Assembly on the occasion of Muharram, stated, “The AhlulBayt (a.s.) Lovers Assembly is trying to move in the direction of the specialization of propagation by compiling and organizing a pamphlet entitled “Effective and Targeted Methods for Propagation.” We will take more steps to develop this topic in the future.”
Referring to the position, and goals of Imam Hussain (a.s.), the Chairman of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Lovers Assembly stated, “Imam’s goal of the uprising in Karbala was the revival of Islamic values, at the top of all of which is proper leadership to save society as an important Islamic value. When Imam Hussain (a.s.) moved towards Karbala, he clearly announced to the people that “a person like Yazid, who does not obey any Islamic rules, is not qualified to lead the Islamic society”.”
Pointing out the necessity of telling the history of mourning for Imam Hussain (a.s.) in Afghanistan, Alemi Balkhi said, “Telling the history of mourning in Afghanistan is one of the necessities for the Shiite community, and the missionaries should not fail in this regard.”
Further in the conference, Ayatollah Salehi Modarres, Chairman of the Afghan Shiite Ulama Council and a member of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “There is no doubt about the principle of mourning in Islamic and Shiite values. According to history, the Immaculate Imams (a.s.) used to mourn for Imam Hussain (a.s.) many times and held mourning gatherings.”
In the end, while expressing the message of Imam Hussain’s (a.s.) uprising, that is, reforming the ummah of his grandfather, the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), and enjoining the good and forbidding the bad, Ayatollah Salehi called on preachers and missionaries to describe the effects of Imam Hussain’s (p.b.u.h) movement in Islamic and human societies for the people.
